         गुरु म्हणजेच ब्रम्ह, गुरु म्हणजेच विष्णू, गुरु म्हणजेच शिव व गुरु म्हणजेच साक्षात परब्रह्म अशा या ईश्वररूपी गुरूंना माझा नमस्कार असो. आपल्या गुरुबद्दल कृतज्ञता व्यक्त करण्याचा दिवस म्हणजेच गुरुपौर्णिमा. मराठी महिन्यातील आषाढ महिन्यातील पौर्णिमेला गुरुपौर्णिमा साजरी   केली जाते.

गुरु म्हणजे कोण? 

Who is Guru?

          गुरु म्हणजे मार्गदर्शक. आपल्याला अज्ञानाच्या अंधारातून ज्ञानाचा मार्ग दाखवणारे ते गुरु. आपले जीवन घडवणारे, आपल्यावर योग्य संस्कार करणारे, आपल्याला योग्य मार्ग दाखवणारे. आपल्यामध्ये शक्तीचा संचार करून कुठल्याही प्रसंगाला तोंड देण्याची हिंमत देणारे गुरुच असतात. आपल्या प्रत्येकाच्या आयुष्यातील प्रथम गुरु म्हणजेच आपले मातापिता होत. आपले संगोपन करतात. आपल्याला बोलायला, चालायला शिकवतात. हाताला धरून उठवतात. आपल्या मुलांना चांगले शिक्षण मिळावे यासाठी चांगल्या शाळेत घालतात. अशा प्रकारे आपले आईवडील आपली काळजी घेतात. त्यामुळे आपले आईवडील आपले प्रथम गुरु होत. आपल्याला शिकवणारे शिक्षक हे सुद्धा आपले गुरुच होत. आपण त्यांच्या सान्निध्यात दिवसातील काही तासच असतो. परंतु शालेय शिक्षणाबरोबर ते आपल्याला इतरही ज्ञान देतात. म्हणून प्रत्येक शाळेमध्ये गुरुपौर्णिमा साजरी केली जाते. या दिवशी विद्यार्थी शिक्षकांना फुलांचा गुच्छ, भेटवस्तू, मिठाई इ. वस्तू देऊन त्यांचा सन्मान करतात.

गुरूचा इतिहास :

        गुरुपौर्णिमेला व्यासपौर्णिमा असेही

 म्हणतात. व्यासऋषींनी वेदांचे ज्ञान सर्व

 जगाला दिले. त्याच प्रमाणे त्यांनी

‘महाभारत’ हा पवित्र ग्रंथ लिहिला. या ग्रंथातून त्यांनी जीवनाचे रहस्य सर्वांना समजावले. म्हणूनच ते आद्यगुरू होत. म्हणूनच गुरुपौर्णिमेच्या दिवशी प्रथम व्यास ऋषींचे पूजन केले जाते.

मानवी जीवनात गुरुची आवश्यकता :

          प्रत्येक माणसाला कसली ना कसली तरी चिंता भेडसावत असते. जीवनात ज्यावेळी सुख येते त्यावेळी माणूस आनंदी होतो. आपल्या सुखात हुरळून जातो. पण एखादे वेळेस वाईट प्रसंग आला तर मात्र तो मनाने खचून जातो. आपल्यावर हा प्रसंग का आला? या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर शोधू लागतो. त्याला त्याच्या प्रश्नाचे उत्तर सापडत नाही. काही जणांच्या मनात अशा वेळी वाईट विचार येऊ लागतात तर काही माणसे व्यसनाधीन होतात. परंतु अशा बिकट प्रसंगी जर एखादा योग्य मार्ग दाखवणारा मार्गदर्शक मिळाला तर माणसाला कुठच्याही प्रसंगाला तोंड देण्याची हिंमत मिळते व तो सुख किंवा दु:ख या दोन्ही प्रसंगी मनाचा समतोल राखू शकतो. म्हणूनच धावपळीच्या या मानवी जीवनाला गुरूंची आवश्यकता आहे.

खरा गुरु कोण?

          खरा गुरु तोच असतो जो आपल्या शिष्याला प्रपंच सांभाळून त्याची उन्नती व अद्यात्मिक प्रगती कशी होईल? यासाठी त्याला योग्य ती साधना देतात. त्याचप्रमाणे शिष्य सुद्धा आपल्या गुरुच्या आज्ञेप्रमाणे आचरण करतो व नम्रपणे वागतो. तोच शिष्य गुरुचाआशिर्वाद संपादन करतो. अशा प्रकारे गुरु आपल्या शिष्याला ईश्वरी रूपात  वेळोवेळी मदत करतात. जो गुरु निस्वार्थी, निरपेक्ष राहून शिष्यांना मदत करतो तोच खरा गुरु होय.

          आजकाल समाजामध्ये गल्लोगल्ली बरेच बुवा, गुरु सापडतात. एखाद्या संकटात असलेल्या माणसाला एखादा उपाय सांगून काहीतरी विधी करण्यासाठी पैसे मागतात. अशा प्रकारे भरकटलेला माणूस आपले काम होईल या इच्छेने आपला वेळ व पैसा वाया घालवतात. त्यामुळे आपण ज्यांना गुरु मानतो त्याची योग्यता पडताळून घेणे खूप गरजेचे आहे. म्हणूनच मित्रांनो, सावधान! कुणालाही गुरु मानून कुठल्याही बुवांच्या नादी लागू नका, सत्कर्म करा. या विश्वात एक अद्भुत शक्ती आहे तिला जाणून घेण्याचा प्रयत्न करा. ती शक्ती आपल्याला योग्य गुरुच्या सहवासात प्राप्त होते. अशा प्रकारे गुरुपौर्णिमा आपल्या इष्ट गुरूचे पूजन करून त्यांच्या उपदेशाप्रमाणे आचरण करा व इतरांना सहाय्य करा.

 Guru is Brahma, Guru is Vishnu, Guru is Shiva and Guru is Parabrahma. Gurupournima is a day to express gratitude to your Guru. Gurupournima is celebrated on the full moon day of the Marathi month of Ashadh.

Who is Guru?

     Guru(Teacher) is the guide. He is the Guru who shows us the path of knowledge from the darkness of ignorance. The ones who shape our lives, the ones who nurture us, the ones who show us the right path. We have gurus who dare to face any situation by transmitting power to us. The first Guru in the life of each of us was our parents. They take care of you. They teach you to walk. They hold our hands and to get up if we fell down. They send their children to good schools so that they can get a good education. This is how your parents take care of you. So our parents became our first gurus. The teacher who taught us was also our guru. We spend only a few hours a day with them. But along with school studies, they give us other knowledge too. So Gurupournima is celebrated in every school. On this day, students are given bouquets of flowers, gifts, sweets, etc to their teacher. They are honored by giving things.

History of Guru:

   Gurupournima is also called Vyaspoornima. Vyasarishi gave the knowledge of Vedas to all the world. In the same way, he wrote the holy book 'Mahabharat'. Through this book, he explained the secret of life to everyone. That is why he became Adyaguru.(the first Guru) That is why the first Vyas sage is worshiped on the day of Gurupournima.

Need of Guru in human life:

        Every human being has some kind of anxiety. Man is happy when there is happiness in life. He is overwhelmed by his happiness. But when bad things happen to him, he gets depressed. Why did this happen to you? The answer to this question begins to be found. He can't find the answer to his question. Some people have bad thoughts at such times, while others become addicted. But in such a difficult situation, if a guide is found to show the right path, a person gets the courage to face any situation and he can balance the mind in both happiness and sorrow. That is why this fast-paced human life needs a Guru.

Who is the Real Guru?

     

 The real Guru is the one who takes care of his disciple's world and how will he progress and progress? They give him the right tools for this. In the same way, the disciple also obeys his master and behaves humbly. The same disciple acquires the Guru's blessing. Thus the Guru helps his disciple from time to time in the divine form. The true Guru is the one who helps the disciples selflessly and impartially.

        In today's society, there are many Gurus in so many places. They ask for money to perform a ritual by telling a man in trouble a solution. Thus the wanderer wastes his time and money in the hope that his work will be done. Therefore, it is very important to verify the merits of those whom we consider being gurus. So friends, beware! Do not follow the advice of any person as a guru, do good deeds. Try to know that there is a wonderful power in this universe. That power we get in the company of the right Guru. In this way, celebrate Gurupournima by worshipping your respected Guru and follow his teachings and help others.

        आकूर नावाचे एक गाव होते. त्या गावात राहुल नावाचा एक मुलगा त्याच्या आईसोबत राहत असे. त्याची आई शेतात मोल मजुरी करत असे. राहुलही कधी कधी आईला तिच्या कामात मदत करत असे. राहुल सातवी इयत्तेत शिकत होता. अभ्यासात तो हुशार होता. एकदा त्याला कळले की शेजारच्या गावात तीन दिवसकरिता पुस्तक प्रदर्शन भरले आहे. राहुलला त्या प्रदर्शनात जाण्याची फार इच्छा होती. त्याचे काही मित्र प्रदर्शनात जाऊन आले. त्यांनी संगितले की प्रदर्शनात वेगवेगळ्या विषयावरची खूप छान पुस्तके आहेत. तसेच पुस्तके विक्रीसाठी ठेवली आहेत. राहुलला ते ऐकून फार आनंद झाला. त्याने आईला, ”प्रदर्शनात जाऊ का? असे विचारले. आईने नकार दिला. ती म्हणाली,”आपल्याकडे तुझ्या सोबत जायला कुणी मोठ माणूस नाही तसेच पुस्तक विकत घेण्यासाठी आपल्याकडे पुरेसे पैसेही नाहीत.”

        राहुल खिन्न झाला तो चालत चालत घरापासून दूर अंतरावर असलेल्या एका झाडाखाली जाऊन बसला. त्याला वाईट वाटत होते. पण काय करणार? इतक्यात त्याला कसलातरी आवाज ऐकू आला. झाडामागे कुणीतरी असल्याचा भास झाला. त्याने मागे पहिले तर त्याला दिव्य प्रकाश दिसला. त्याला आश्चर्य वाटले. त्या प्रकाशातून एक सुंदर परी प्रकट झाली. ती म्हणाली, “राहुल घाबरू नकोस. मी एक परी आहे. तू एवढा दु:खी का दिसत आहेस?” राहुलने तिला घडलेली हकीकत सांगितली. परी म्हणाली, ”मी तुझी इच्छा पूर्ण करीन. पण तुला एक परीक्षा द्यावी लागेल. त्यात तू पास झालास तर मी तुला मदत करीन.” राहुलने विचारले, “माझी इच्छा पूर्ण करण्यासाठी मी परीक्षा द्यायला तयार आहे. परी म्हणाली, “ठीक आहे. उद्या तू मला याच झाडाखाली भेट. असे म्हणून परी निघून गेली.

        दुसर्‍या दिवशी राहुल पुन्हा परीला भेटण्यासाठी निघाला. जाताना रस्त्यात त्याला लाल रंगाच्या मखमली कपड्यात बांधलेली एक वस्तू सापडली. त्याने ती उचलली व ही कोणाची वस्तू असेल म्हणून तो इकडे तिकडे बघू लागला. वस्तू खूप आकर्षक होती. त्याला रस्त्यात एक व्यक्ती दिसली ती व्यक्ती काहीतरी शोधत असल्याचे त्याच्या लक्षात आले. राहुल लगेचच त्याच्याजवळ गेला व त्याने विचारले, “काका, आपण काही शोधत आहात का?” ते म्हणाले, ”हो, माझी एक वस्तू हरवली आहे.” राहुलने त्यांना त्याच्याजवळची वस्तू दाखवली नाही. त्याने विचारले, ”तुमची हरवलेली वस्तू काशी दिसते?” ते म्हणाले, ”ती वस्तू लाल मखमली कपड्यात बांधलेली आहे”. खात्री पटल्यावर राहुलाने ती वस्तू त्यांना दाखवली. त्यावर त्यांनी ती वस्तू त्यांचीच असल्याचे संगितले. राहुलने ती वस्तू त्यांना देऊ केली तर ते म्हणाले, “ही वस्तू तुला बक्षीस म्हणून ठेव.” राहुल गोधळला. ती व्यक्ती दुसरी तिसरी कोणी नसून परीच होती. परी राहुलला म्हणाली, ”राहुल, तू परीक्षेत पास झाला आहेस. मी तुझ्यावर खूप प्रसन्न आहे. हे बक्षीस तू ठेव. तुझी इच्छा पूर्ण होईल.” राहुल खूप खुश झाला व परीचे आभार मानून घरी गेला. घरी गेल्यावर त्याने आईला सर्व हकीकत सांगितली. त्याने आईला बक्षीस दाखवले. त्याने ते उघडून पाहिले तर त्या कपड्यात पैसे होते. राहुलच्या आईलाही फार आनंद झाला. राहुल आपल्या आईबरोबर आनंदाने प्रदर्शन पाहायला गेला. राहुलने खूप पुस्तके विकत घेतली. राहुलची इच्छा पूर्ण झाली. मोठे झाल्यावर राहुलने तर वाचनालयच उघडले.

तात्पर्य : इच्छा प्रबळ असेल तर मार्ग नक्कीच मिळतो.

       There was a village called Akur. In that village, a boy named Rahul lived with his mother. His mother worked in the fields. Rahul also sometimes helped his mother in her work. Rahul was studying in 7th standard. He was smart in his studies. Once he found out that the neighboring village was full of book exhibitions for three days. Rahul wanted to go to that exhibition. Some of his friends went to the exhibition. They told that there are many nice books on different topics in the exhibition. Also, books are kept for sale. Rahul was very happy to hear that. He asked his mother, "Shall we go to the exhibition?" The mother refused. She said, "There is no elder person to go with you, and you don't have enough money to buy the  books."

        Rahul became depressed. He walked and sat under a tree at a distance from the house. He was feeling bad. But what to do? Suddenly he heard a voice. There seemed to be someone behind the tree. When he looked back, he saw divine light. He was surprised. Out of that light, a beautiful fairy appeared. She said, "Rahul, don't be afraid. I am a fairy. Why do you look so sad? ” Rahul told her the fact. The fairy said, "I will fulfill your wish. But you have to give a test. If you pass, I will help you. ” Rahul replied, "I am ready to give the exam to fulfill my wish. The fairy said, “Okay. Tomorrow you will visit me under this tree and the fairy left.

        The next day, Rahul went to see the fairy again. On the way, he found an object wrapped in red velvet. He picked it up and looked around to see whose object it was. The objects were very attractive. He saw a man on the street and he noticed that the man was looking for something. Rahul immediately approached him and asked, "Uncle, are you looking for something?" He said, "Yes, I have lost one thing." Rahul did not show them anything near him. He asked, "What does your lost object look like?" "The object is wrapped in red velvet," he said. Rahul showed them the item with him. He said the item was his. When Rahul offered it to them, they said, "Keep it as a reward." Rahul was confused. That person was no other than a fairy itself. The fairy said to Rahul, "Rahul, you have passed the exam. I am very happy for you. You keep this reward. Your wish will come true. ” Rahul was very happy and went home thanking the fairy. When he returned home, he told his mother all the facts. He showed the mother the prize. He opened it and saw that there was money in it. Rahul's mother was also very happy. Rahul happily went to see the exhibition with his mother. Rahul bought a lot of books. Rahul's wish came true. When he grew up, Rahul opened a library.

शाळेच्या घंटेचे आत्मवृत्त

        आज परीक्षेचा शेवटचा पेपर होता. शाळेला सुट्टी लागणार होती, पेपर संपला व आम्ही सर्व मैत्रिणी व्हरांड्यात उभे होतो. तिथे आमच्या शाळेची मोठी घंटा आहे. आम्ही सर्वजणी बोलत होतो. कारण आम्ही सर्वजणी सुट्टी संपल्यावर नवीन वर्गात भेटणार होतो. एवढ्यात आम्हाला घंटेचा आवाज आला. आम्हाला वाटले वार्‍यामुळे घंटा हलली असावी म्हणून आम्ही घंटेकडे पहिले तर घंटा प्रत्यक्ष बोलू लागली.

        घंटा म्हणाली,” घाबरू नका. मीच आवाज केला. तुमचं बोलणं मी ऐकल. तुम्हाला सुट्टी पडली म्हणून तुम्ही खूप आनंदात आहात. पण तुम्ही मैत्रिणी सुट्टीमध्ये एकमेकांना भेटणार नाही म्हणून तुम्हाला वाईट वाटते. पण तुम्ही विद्यार्थी ज्यावेळी घरी असता त्यावेळी मात्र मला खूप एकटेपणा जाणवतो. शाळेतील शिक्षकसुद्धा पेपर तपासून झाल्यावर सुट्टीवर जातात. मग मात्र मला खूपच एकट वाटत. या दरम्यान माझे काहीच काम नसत. मी मात्र तुम्हा सर्वांची आठवण काढत असते. मला हा एकटेपणा सहन होत नाही. कधी एकदा सुट्टी संपते व शाळा सुरू होते असे मला सतत वाटत राहते.

        मला माझ्या कामाबद्दल खूपच अभिमान आहे. तुम्हा विद्यार्थ्यांच्या जीवनात तर माझे महत्वाचे स्थान आहे. तुम्ही रोज शाळेत येता पण घंटा वाजायच्या आत तुम्ही शाळेत पोहोचता. त्यानंतर प्रार्थनेची वेळ सुरू होते तीही घंटा नादाने. एक तास संपला की पुन्हा माझा उपयोग होतो. एखादा कंटाळवाणा तास असला किंवा अभ्यास करायचा कंटाळा आला की तुम्ही सर्वजण कधी एकदा घंटा वाजते व हा कंटाळवाणा तास कधी संपतो याची वाट पाहत असता. अभ्यास करून कंटाळा येतो, भूक लागते तेव्हा तुम्हाला माझी खूपच आठवण येते. माझा आवाज आला की तुम्ही खुश होता. तुम्ही डबा खाता, मैदानावर खेळता, मस्ती करता परंतु जेव्हा तुम्हाला माझा आवाज येतो त्यावेळी मात्र तुम्हाला घंटा इतक्या लवकर का वाजली? असे वाटू लागते. पण मी माझे काम प्रामाणिकपणे व वेळेनुसार करते. त्यानंतर तुम्ही पुन्हा अभ्यास करता व शाळा कधी सुटते याची वाट बघता ज्यावेळी माझा आवाज येतो तेव्हा तुम्ही आनंदी होतो.

        अशा प्रकारे मी माझ कर्तव्य करत असते. पण मला तुमची इतकी सवय झाली आहे की सुट्टी पडली की मला फार वाईट वाटते. तुम्ही सर्वजण माझे सोबती आहात पण ठीक आहे. दरवर्षी प्रमाणे ही सुट्टी देखील मला एकटीलाच काढावी लागेल पण तुम्ही मात्र सुट्टीत खूप मजा करा. आनंदी रहा व लवकरात लवकर परत या.

        असे बोलून घंटा शांत झाली. कधी नव्हे ते आम्हाला शाळेच्या घंटेचे मनोगत आम्हाला समजले. घंटेबद्दल आमच्या मनात आदर निर्माण झाला.

            Today was the last paper of the exam. The school was about to break, the exams got over and we all friends stood in the veranda (passage). There is a big bell in our school. We were all talking. Because we were all going to meet in a new class when the holidays were over. Just then we heard some noise. We thought the wind must have moved the bell so we looked at the bell and the bell started speaking.

           The bell said, "Don't be afraid. I made a noise. I was listening to you. You're so happy to have a holiday. But you feel bad for not meeting each other during the vacation. But when you students are at home, I feel very lonely. School teachers also go on vacation after checking their papers. But then I feel very lonely. In the meantime, I had nothing to do. But I miss you all. I can't tolerate this loneliness. I always feel like when these holidays would over and school starts.
  
          I am very proud of my work. I have an important place in the lives of the students. You come to school every day before the bell ring. Then the prayer time starts with the ringing of the bell. After the 1st period, I was used again. Whether it's a boring hour or getting bored of studying, you all wait for the bell to ring once. When you are getting bored with studying or when you feel hungry you are eagerly waiting for me. when you heard my voice you feel very happy. रविवारची सुट्टी नसती तर 

(If there were no Sunday holiday)

       रविवारची सुट्टी म्हणजे सगळ्यांचा आरामाचा दिवस असतो. आठवडाभर काम केल्यानंतर कधी एकदा रविवार येतो याची सर्वजण आतुरतेने वाट पाहत असतात. इतर कुठलीही सुट्टी असो पण ही रविवारची सुट्टी नसती तर ...... अशी कल्पनाच करवत नाही.

         रविवारची सुट्टी म्हटली की लोकांचे खूप बेत ठरलेले असतात. आठवडाभर काम करून काही जणांना खूप थकवा आलेला असतो. त्यामुळे त्यांना सकाळी आरामात उठायचे असते व दिवसभर आराम करायचा  असतो. काही जणांना बाहेर जायचे असते. काही जणांना कुठल्यातरी नातेवाईकांच्या किंवा मित्रांच्या घरी जायचे असते तर काहींना एखाद्या सभारंभात जायचे असते. काहींना एखादी खरेदी करायला बाहेर जायचे असते. काही जणांना बाहेर हॉटेलमध्ये जेवायला जायचे असते तर काही जणांना आठवड्याभराची कामे पूर्ण करायची असतात. काहींना अभ्यास पूर्ण करायचा असतो तर काहींना खूप खेळायचे असते. पण रविवारची सुट्टीच जर नसेल तर याचा लहान थोर सगळ्यावरच परिणाम होईल. त्यांना सतत कामे करावी लागल्यामुळे त्यांची चिडचिड होईल. त्यांचे त्यांच्या रोजच्या कामातही लक्ष लागणार नाही. मुलांना खेळायला मिळणार नाही. कुणाला मनसोक्तपणे कुठेही जाता येणार नाही. सगळ्यांची रोजची धावपळ होईल व ताणतणाव मात्र वाढेल. घरातील वयस्कर लोकांनासुद्धा कंटाळा येईल कारण एक रविवारच असा असतो की ज्या दिवशी घरातील सर्वजण एकत्र असतात. अशा प्रकारे रविवारची सुट्टी नसेल तर सर्वांवरच त्याचा विपरीत परिणाम होईल.

        रविवारची सुट्टी नसती तर याचा फायदा व्यावसायिकांना झाला असता. उद्योगधंदे रोजच्या रोज चालू राहिले असते. कर्मचारी रविवारी कामावर आले म्हणून त्यांना वेगळा मोबदला देण्याची गरज भासली नसती. उलट सुट्टी आहे, काम जास्त आहे, तुम्ही कामावर या असे सांगायची गरज भासणार नाही. परंतु यात तोटा मात्र कर्मचार्‍यांचाच होईल. कारण त्यांना जो महिन्याचा पगार मिळतो तो रविवारच्या सुट्टीचा मिळून असतो. पण रविवारची सुट्टीच नसेल तर त्यांना रविवारी काम करून तेवढाच पगार मिळेल. पण दैनंदिन रोजगारावर काम करतात त्यांना फायदा होईल. गृहीणींना मात्र विशेष फरक पडणार नाही. परंतु जर कोणी एखादी सुट्टी नसताना सतत काम केले तर त्याचा आरोग्यावर विपरीत परिणाम होईल. विद्यार्थ्यांनासुद्धा शाळेत रोज गेल्यामुळे मानसिक संतुलन बिघडू शकते. इतकेच काय त्यांना शाळेत जाण्याची किंवा अभ्यास करण्याची इच्छा होणार नाही. आठवडाभर सतत काम केल्यानंतर मनाला व शरिराला आरामची गरज असते. रविवारची सुट्टी ही प्रत्येकासाठी फार महत्वाची आहे. प्रत्येक माणसाला कामातून विरंगुळा हवा असतो. काहींना आपला एखादा छंद जोपासायचा असतो किंवा एखादे आवडीचे काम करायचे असते. त्यासाठी प्रत्येकाला आठवड्यातून एखाद्या सुट्टीची गरज असते. म्हणून रविवारची सुट्टी ही महत्वाची आहे.

         रविवारची सुट्टी नसती तर ....... ही कल्पना करणेच अशक्य आहे. त्यामुळे रविवारची सुट्टी ही सर्वांना असलीच पाहिजे.

        जत्रा म्हटली की लहान मुलांचा आनंद. जत्रेत मिळणारी खेळणी, खाऊ, खेळ, इ. चे त्यांना फार आकर्षण असते. अशीच एक जत्रा मीही अनुभवली आहे.  

        मी एकदा माझ्या आईबरोबर माझ्या मावशीच्या गावी गेले होते. त्यांची ग्रामदेवता महालक्ष्मी आहे. या ग्रामदेवतेची दरवर्षी एप्रिल महिन्यातील पोर्णिमेला जत्रा असते. ती पाच दिवस असते. आम्ही त्याच दरम्यान मावशीकडे गेलो होतो. त्यामुळे आम्हाला जत्रेला जाण्याचा योग आला व ती जत्रा अनुभवायला मिळाली.

        आम्ही दुसर्‍या दिवशी सकाळी उठलो. सर्व कामे आटपून आम्ही न्याहारी केली व तयारी करून जत्रेला गेलो. माझ्या मावशीची मुलगी व मुलगा सोबत होते. त्यामुळे आम्हा मुलांचा जत्रेला जाण्याचा उत्साह खूपच वाढला होता. आम्ही जत्रेच्या ठिकाणी गेलो. गावातील सरपंच व तरुण मुलांनी जत्रेची अगदी चोख व्यवस्था केली होती. जत्रा व्यवस्थित कशी पार पडेल यासाठी खूप मेहनत घेतली होती. तसेच देवळात कुठेही गर्दी होऊ नये व सर्वांना दर्शन मिळावे याकडे विशेष लक्ष दिले होते.

        आम्हीसुद्धा देवीचे दर्शन घेतले. देवीचे देऊळ खूपच छान आहे. ते सुंदर फुलांनी सजवलेले होते. खूप छान रोषणाई केली होती. आत गाभारा सुगंधी फुलांनी सजवलेला होता. देवीलासुद्धा खूप सुंदर साडी व वेगवेगळ्या दागदागिन्यांनी सजवलेले होते. देवीचे रूप खूपच मनोहर दिसत होते. खूप दिव्यांची आरास केली होती. देवळाच्या बाहेरचा परिसरदेखील खूपच भव्य आहे. परिसरात खूपच जुन्या अशा दीपमाळा आहेत. त्यांना ही छान असे सजवलेले होते. संध्याकाळी या दीपमाळांच्या दिव्याची रोषणाई तेवढा परिसर उजळून टाकते. आम्ही देवीला नमस्कार करून बाहेर आलो व जत्रेत फिरायला गेलो. सर्व परिसर अगदी माणसांनी फुलून गेला होता. सर्व गाव व इतर गावातील लोकसुद्धा जत्रेला उपस्थित होते.

        जत्रेमध्ये खूप दुकाने सजलेली होती. गर्दी तर होतीच पण पुरेश्या अंतराने दुकानांची व्यवस्था केली होती. तसेच आकाशपाळणे, गोलचक्र व इतर खेळ होते. खाऊची दुकाने सुद्धा छान सजलेली होती. कपडे, चपला, भांडी, खेळणी यांची दुकाने होती. आम्ही काही नवीन कपडे, खेळणी खरेदी केली तसेच खूप खाऊ घेतला. आम्ही आकाश पाळण्यात बसलो व इतर खेळ ही खेळलो. तिथे कडक बुंडीचे लाडू व लाहया देवीचा प्रसाद म्हणून लोक आवर्जून विकत घेतात. घरगुती उपहारगृहे होती. तिथे आम्ही जेवलो. जत्रेत खूप फिरलो. भरपूर मजा केली. संध्याकाळ होत आली होती. दिव्यांच्या रोषणाईने सर्व परिसर झगमगून होता. आम्ही घरी जायला निघालो. पण जत्रेतून पाय निघत नव्हता.

        मला मावशीच्या गावी गेल्याचे सार्थक वाटले. कारण मला ही जत्रा अनपेक्षितपणे अनुभवायला मिळाली याच खूप आनंद झाला.   ‘मी पाहिलेली जत्रा’ माझ्यासाठी अविस्मरणीय ठरली.

        The fair is the joy of the little ones. Toys, food, games, etc. available at tGhe fair. They are very attractive. I have experienced a similar fair.

        I once went to my aunt's village with my mother. Her village deity is Mahalakshmi. This village deity has a fair on the full moon day of April every year. It lasts for five days. We went to my aunt in the meantime. So we decided to go to the fair and experience that fair.

        We woke up the next morning. After finishing all the work, we had breakfast and prepared and went to the fair. My cousin's daughter and son were with me. So we had a lot of enthusiasm to go to the children's fair. We went to the fairgrounds. The Sarpanch of the village and the youth of the village had arranged the fair very well. It took a lot of effort to figure out how to get the fair going. Also, special care was taken to ensure that there was no crowd in the temple and that everyone could get darshan(everyone could go into the sanctum and pray the goddess).

        We also visited the Goddess. The temple of the goddess is very nice. They were decorated with beautiful flowers. It was very nicely lit. Inside, the barn was decorated with fragrant flowers. The goddess was also adorned with the beautiful sari and various ornaments. The form of the goddess looked very beautiful. Lots of lights were arranged. The area outside the temple is also very grand. There are many old lighthouses in the area. They were nicely decorated. In the evening, the light of these lamps illuminates the area. We greeted the Goddess and came out and went for a walk in the fair. The whole area was crowded with people. All people from the village and other villages also attended the fair.

The food stalls were also nicely decorated. There were shops selling clothes, slippers, utensils, and toys. We bought some new clothes, toys and ate a lot. We sat in the sky watching and played other games as well. There, The people buy of Bundi laddoos (sweet) and rice flakes (Lahya in the Marathi language) as a  Prasad of the goddess. There were domestic restaurants. We ate there. I went around the fair a lot. I had a lot of fun. It was getting late. The whole area was ablaze with lights. We left to go home. But the feet did not leave the fair.

        I felt it was worthwhile to go to my aunt's village. Because I was very happy to experience this fair unexpectedly. The ‘Fair I Saw’ was unforgettable for me.

वटपोर्णिमा २०२०

         हिंदू संस्कृतीत स्त्रियांच्या अतिशय जिव्हाळ्याचा सण म्हणजे ‘वटपोर्णिमा’. मराठी महिन्यातील जेष्ठ महिन्यात येणार्‍या पोर्णिमेला  ‘वटपोर्णिमा’ म्हणतात. भारताच्या सर्व प्रांतात वटपोर्णिमा वेगवेगळ्या पद्धतीने साजरी केली जाते. पण महाराष्ट्रातील स्त्रिया हा सण अगदी विशेष पद्धतीने साजरी करतात. या पूजेत वटवृक्षाचे फार महत्व आहे.

      सावित्री आख्यान या पौराणिक कथेनुसार सावित्रीने आपल्या बुद्धी चातुर्‍याने यमाला हरवून त्याच्याकडून आपल्या पतीचे प्राण परत मिळवले व तेव्हापासून वट-पोर्णिमा साजरी केली जाते. ती कथा अशी की सावित्री ही अतिशय सर्वगुण संपन्न मुलगी होती. पण तिचा विवाह होत नव्हता. त्यामुळे तिच्या वडिलांना खूप चिंता वाटत होती. तिच्या वडिलांनी तिला स्वत: वर शोधण्यास पाठवले. तिथे तिला सत्यवान भेटला. परंतु त्याच्या पत्रिकेत आयुष्य फार कमी आहे असे लिहिलेले होते. सावित्रीने सत्यवानाशी विवाह केला. एकदा ते दोघे वडा -च्या झाडाखाली गप्पा मारत बसले असता अचानक सत्यवान मूर्च्छा येऊन पडला. यमदूत त्याचे प्राण नेण्या –साठी आला. पण सावित्रीने आपल्या पतीचे प्राण नेण्यास नकार दिला. खूप प्रयत्न करून सुद्धा सावित्री आपल्या पतीचे प्राण देत नाही हे पाहून यमदूत परत गेले. त्यावेळी यमराज स्वत: सत्यवानाचे प्राण नेण्यासाठी आले. त्यांनी सावित्रीला समजावले व ते प्राण घेऊन निघाले असता सावित्री त्यांच्या मागे जाऊ लागली. सावित्री ऐकत नाही हे पाहून त्यांनी तिला वर मागायला संगितले. त्यावेळी सावित्रीने प्रथम तिच्या सासर्‍यांची गेलेली दृष्टी परत येऊ दे असा वर मागितला. यमराजांनी तो पूर्ण केला. त्यानंतर सावित्रीने तिच्या सासर्‍यांचे गेलेले राज्य परत मिळू दे असा वर मागितला. तो ही वर पूर्ण केला व नंतर तिला तिसरा वर मागायला संगितले. त्यावेळी सावित्रीने मला मुलगा व्हावा असा वर मागितला व यमराजांनी तो मान्य केला. आता हा वर माझ्या पतीशिवाय कसा पूर्ण होईल? असा प्रश्न तिने केला. त्यावेळी मात्र यमराजांना नाइलाजाने सत्यवानाचे प्राण परत करावे लागले. अशा प्रकारे सावित्रीने आपल्या बुद्धीचातुर्‍याने आपल्या पतीचे प्राण परत मिळवले. तेव्हापासून वटपोर्णिमा हा सण विवाहित स्त्रिया साजरा     

करतात व वडाच्या झाडाची पूजा करतात. 

       वट पोर्णिमा २०२०, या वर्षी वटपोर्णिमा ५ जून रोजी आली व ५ जून हा दिवस ‘जागतिक पर्यावरण दिन’ म्हणून साजरा केला जातो. त्यामुळे यावर्षी ‘वटपोर्णिमा’ व ‘पर्यावरण’ असा सुंदर योग जुळून आला. स्त्रियांनाही पर्यावरणाच महत्व पटावं यासाठी कदाचित हा योग जुळून आला असावा. कारण काही मोठ्या शहरांमध्ये वडाच झाड नसतं त्यावेळी वडाच्या फांदया तोडल्या जातात व त्याची घरीच पूजा करतात. या झाडामध्ये जास्तीत जास्त ऑक्सिजन देण्याची क्षमता आहे. या झाडाच्या सान्नि-ध्यात राहिल्यामुळे स्त्रियांच आरोग्य चांगलं राहात. घरातील स्त्री जर निरोगी असेल तर तिच्या कुटुंबाच आरोग्य चांगलं राहत. म्हणून स्त्रियांना वडाच्या झाडाखाली जाऊन पूजा करण जास्त हितावह ठरेल. कदाचित निसर्गाला हाच संदेश सर्व स्त्रियांना द्यावासा वाटत असावा. परंतु २०२० हे वर्ष महामारीचे आहे. त्यामुळे पूजेचे साहित्यही मिळाले नाही. तसेच या वर्षी जास्त वडाच्या फांद्याही तोडल्या गेल्या नाहीत. सर्व स्त्रियांनी मिळालेल्या साहित्यात समाधान मानून आनंदाने पूजा केली. काही स्त्रियांनी घरातील कुंडीतील झाड वडाचे झाड मानून पूजा केली तर काहींनी वडाच्या झाडाखाली पूजा केली. अशाप्रकारे या वर्षी सुद्धा स्वत:ला सुरक्षित ठेवून स्त्रियांनी वटपोर्णिमा उत्साहाने साजरी केली.

      मैत्रिणींनो, या वर्षी जशी तुम्ही वडाचे झाड न तोडता पूजा केली तशीच दरवर्षी करा. वडाचे झाड नसेल तर एखाद झाड तुमच्या घराजवळ एखाद्या मोकळ्या जागेत लावा व त्याची पूजा करा. या लहान रोपट्याचा जसा वटवृक्ष होईल तसेच तुमच्या पतीचे आयुष्य वाढू दे अशी कामना करा तेव्हाच तुम्ही वडाच्या झाडाची केलेली पूजा  खर्‍या अर्थाने सफल होईल.

         Vatpornima is a very intimate festival of women in Hindu culture. The full moon coming in the Jyeshtha, the Marathi month is called 'Vatpornima'. Vatpurnima is celebrated in different ways in all the states of India. But women in Maharashtra celebrate this festival in a very special way. The banyan tree is very important in this worship.

      According to the legend of Savitri, Savitri defeated Yama (the God of death) with her intellect and got her husband's life back from him and since then Vat-Purnima has been celebrated. The story is that Savitri was a very rich girl. But she was not getting married. So her father was very worried. Her father sent her to find her life partner. There she met Satyawan. But it was written in his journal that life is very short. Savitri married Satyavana. Once, while they were chatting under the banyan tree, Satyawan fainted. Yamadoot (the messenger of Yama) came to take his life. But Savitri refused to take her husband's life. Seeing that Savitri was not giving up her husband's life despite her best efforts, Yamadoot (the messenger of Yama) returned. At that time, Yamaraj himself came to take the life of Satyavan. He explained to Savitri and as he was leaving, Savitri started following him. Seeing that Savitri was not listening, he promised her to fulfill her three wishes instead of Satyavan's life. At that time, Savitri first asked him to get back her father-in-law eyes. Yamaraj instantly fulfilled it. After that, Savitri asked him to give back the father-in-law kingdom which he had lost in the war. He also fulfills this wish and then asked her for a third wish. At that time Savitri asked him to have a son from Satyavan and Yamaraj agreed. Now how could this be complete without my husband? She asked. At that time, however, Yamaraj had to return the life of Satyavana. Thus Savitri, with her intellect, regained her husband's life. Since then Vatpornima has been celebrated by married women and worship the banyan tree.

       Vatpurnima 2020, this year Vatpurnima came on 5th June and 5th June is celebrated as 'World Environment Day'. So coincidently this year  'Vatpornima' and 'Environment Day' came together. This may have been adapted for women to understand the importance of the environment. Because in some big cities when there is no banyan tree, the branches of the banyan tree are cut off and worshiped at home. This plant has the ability to provide maximum oxygen. Staying close to this tree will keep women in good health. If a housewife is healthy, her family will be in good health. Therefore, it would be more desirable for women to worship under the banyan tree. May be nature wants to give the same message to all women. But 2020 is a year of epidemics. Therefore, the worship material was not received. Also, not many branches have been cut this year. All the women worshiped with joy, satisfied with the things they received. Some women worshiped the potted plant or any other tree nearby considering it as a banyan tree, while others worshiped under the banyan tree. Thus, this year too, the women celebrated Vatpornima with enthusiasm, keeping themselves safe.

      Friends, like this year, you celebrate Vatpornima every year without cutting down the banyan tree. If there is no banyan tree, plant a tree in an open space near your house and worship it. Only when you wish that this small plant will become a banyan tree and let your husband's life be extended, then only the worship of the banyan tree will be successful in the true sense.
